About

b. 1981, ZA.

I'm an artist and creative director based in Cape Town, South Africa. I've been obsessed with analogue photography for more than half my life, and I'm continuously trying out new ideas to produce original, vivid images that demand closer inspection.

My main area of focus is multiple exposure photography, which basically just means superimposing two or more images inside the camera on the same negative.

Most of my work is made on 35mm film, without any digital manipulation. Despite the apparent abstraction, my photographs are really just surreal snapshots of places I've visited, half-imagined like all of our memories. Working on film with multiple exposures means that every photograph I make is an experiment. I love that.

My main area of focus is multiple exposure photography, which basically just means superimposing two or more images inside the camera on the same negative. My photo collage work is an extension of this idea, but in a more tactile form.  At the other end of the spectrum, I'm into classical portraiture; mindful, noble cameos intended to become framed heirlooms, and not just transient digital files.
