Multiple exposure photograph, 35mm film
Limited edition print, on Hahnemühle German etching paper
Multiple exposure photograph on 35mm film, combining a costal landscape image with a cluster of black rocks on the same beach. Made on Keurboomstrand, an intensely atmospheric stretch of coastline near Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.
This image never fails to recollect the heavy bag of woes I was lugging around at the time I made it. In fact, it's an apt visual representation of my mindset at the time; desolate, confusing, devoid of colour; jagged underfoot, a storm brewing. Nevertheless, the clarity of feeling this single frame evokes makes it one of my all-time favourite photographs.
